Mass Emails

Well, regardless of how impersonal Mass Emails are, I love to share information. It was great fun to send the email 48 hours ago giving everyone my mailbox number and email and phone numbers. For the past 48 hours i have been reading "returned" mail, but also great emails from many of you and hearing what you have been up to also! THANK YOU

This morning i was walking Grace (the wonder mutt) and was reading responses on my blackberry and suddenly heard a noise. I looked up and realized Grace and I had just intruded on a white-tailed deer's morning munch of grass! (I know it was white-tailed because that is about all i saw of it as it ran away!).. never fear we saw four more as i put my blackberry down and just enjoyed the greenery of Sewanee in the 6am light.

Many of you might be curious as to what classes I am taking. I finally know- or have the schedule as of right now. As a junior they pretty much have set our schedule for us except for one elective (a language: Pastoral Spanish, New Testament Greek or Old Testament Hebrew).... So: It's Church History I, The Creeds, Spirituality for Ministry, Singing the Word and the elective.. i think i am taking Greek.....they all sound so great! And tonight we had the ministry fair... I am currently enrolled to participate in the Phon-a-thon (so unblock your phones you alums!) and helping with the youth on Thursday nights (go figure!)....oh and Choir! :)

Finally the picture of the house! Enjoy!

Today is day three of Orientation- a bit on computers, tours of campus, CPE and Field Ed surrounded by Morning Prayer, Eucharist, and Evening Prayers. Lots of good information and meeting of people and reception of information.

My apologies for lack of posts and emails and voicemails, in short- we do not have internet at the house yet and reception is interesting on campus.

But other than that! Life is goooood.

First DAY of Orientation!

Well it's official, we have heard the dean speak, we have heard the associate dean speak, the director of Financial Aid, the director of housing and i have completed my vocal "audition". It's official- I am a seminarian in the Class of Theology 2011. Wahoooo.

A good day complete with more reading to do. We were given a binder that should answer all kinds of questions...oh yeah!!! All kinds of small world connections here and fun to realize them and make them!

Arrival in Sewanee

We arrived in Sewanee Thursday night at 11pm CST after a bit of an adventure! Safe and sound and currently we are all unpacked too!

We have settled into the cute UH 45. It's a great 664 Square Feet. It includes a wonderful porch and an incredible little white picket fence! Friday we spent all day running errands and paying deposits and most importantly (in Rob's eyes) we paid our membership to the golf course ($75 for the year!). Ending the day with a trip to Wal-mart. Today we got up to go in search of a dresser and came home with a wonderful piece to house all of my clothes.

It is a gorgeous 85 degrees up here, the air is cool, and sun is out!. The dogs had bath time this afternoon and now we are just hanging out..... i still am plugging through summer reading.

Well, orientation begins Monday morning with 8:10am morning prayer! More to come!

Lake Cottrell

Well, much has past since the planting of those little plants mentioned in the last post. Pilgrimage, Junior High Mission Session, EYE and a Farewell. Currently we are up at the Lake Cottrell and I should be reading my summer reading...i have managed to read one of the 4 books i have brought with me. But the lake is so peaceful and quiet and the internet so fun to piddle around with...... such lovely weather and lovely times. I love watching the water change from smooth as glass to rippling with the slight breeze coming from the west. The photos are of the Lake, our dock and Grace the wondermutt.

The Babies

You gotta have the right tools.... Here is my favorite bucket o'stuff..... My gardening bucket of fun. Inside are my handy gloves, kneeling pad and trowel. All of which were purchased for about a dollar each, but make days like today SO much fun. We went to Lowes today to get some lights and we walked away with these little babies to place in the ground.....These are our new babies.


At my old church on Pentecost Sunday each parishoner was given an impateins plant to take home and plant at their home....I was surprised that my little plant, once planted, grew into quite a good sized plant. As I planted these little guys- who knows if they will grow or die......we will wait and see.....and continue to water and urge them to grow big and tall!
